The Wormhole Drive DS-1 is advanced ship operations technology that can be equipped on any ship with an operations slot, including but not limited to: Javelin Flagship, Prophet Flagship and Harvester. It is well-suited for exploration in Deep Space.
It grants the jump ship functionality to warp anywhere within 3 sectors.
Strategy and Setup[ | ]
Advantages[ | ]
The Wormhole Drive DS-1 can be equipped on any jump ship, in particular non-Prophet Flagships, which unprecedentedly allows them to also travel across sectors in a single jump. Compared to the Wormhole Drive Type-E and Wormhole Blitz Drive, it also requires a shorter build time of only 5 hours compared to 5 days.
Compared to the cross-sector jump drives for the Prophet Flagship, i.e. the Wormhole Drive Type-OXXD, the stats are better in almost every way (the exception being the lack of a jump bonus).
Disadvantages[ | ]
For non-Prophet Flagships, the Wormhole Drive DS-1 has a minimum escort level of 70, meaning that escorts of level 70 are unable to escort a fleet equipped with this jump drive. Morever, this jump drive has a longer charge time than both Wormhole Drive Type-E and Wormhole Blitz Drive when jumping in the same sector. It has a significantly lower escort limit than Wormhole Drive Type-E, and does not provide any jump bonus unlike the Wormhole Blitz Drive.
For Prophet Flagships, this wormhole drive lacks the jump bonus of Wormhole Drive Type-OXXD.
