Tungsten Plates are the base version of the A.X.I.S. Tungsten Armor, providing ample protection to modules equipped with it.

The EN, EX and KI Tungsten Plates reduce the amount of damage taken from the respective damage types.

Strategy and Setup[ | ]

Advantages[ | ]

Tungsten Plates are an interesting alternative to Heavy Talonite Plates, with a mass requirement slightly lower than that of the same level. This is perfect for those who find their module builds a tight fit as using this armor may free up some precious mass to use other, more powerful equipment.

Not only do XX and XXAL Tungsten Plates provide damage resistance, they also have an improved mass to health ratio, enabling your modules to do more for less.

Disadvantages[ | ]

Although Tungsten Plates take up less mass, they also provide equivalently less protection than Heavy Talonite Plates.

While Tungsten Plates has lower health value, it gives noticeably more XP than Heavy Talonite Plates, allowing higher-level enemies to attack your base. The same could be said for XX Tungsten Plates and XXAL Tungsten Plates in relation to their Talonite counterparts.

XX and XXAL Tungsten Plates actually have lower health value than level II Tungsten Plates, so be sure to put your resistances to use!

Trivia[ | ]

Tungsten is a real-life metal. It is a hard, rare metal (under standard conditions, when uncombined), and is found naturally on Earth almost exclusively in chemical compounds. It was identified as a new element in 1781 and first isolated as a metal in 1783.
Tungsten Plates was released much much later compared to its ship version.
