The Pegasus is a specialist hull designed to emulate the mobility and customizability of frigates. It also has innate Harmonic Warfare and Harmonic Siege.

Strategy and Setup

Advantages

With maneuverability matching that of a Frigate, the Pegasus is able to weave in, deal damage and weave out of combat quickly in the blink of an eye. When combined together with other ships providing Harmonic Agility, the Pegasus becomes one of the agilest ships in the game, effectively making it the new Rapture Cruiser. The ability to equip Pierian Fuel enables this ship to kite others with less range without fear of repercussion.

In addition, with its 5 special slots, the Pegasus can equip multiple Harmonic Reactors (Agility, Warfare, Siege), further boosting the Harmonic Bonuses of your fleet. Alternatively, using 5x Xeno Armored Hold III is the cheapest way of building the ultimate cargo fleet.

Disadvantages

The Pegasus is fairly weak in terms of firepower, with only 4 weapon slots by default. It is also quite fragile, being able to equip only 2 pieces of armor. In addition, it has a relatively low maximum mass. As a result, Pegasi are weak to long-range attacks from Paladin Carriers and Liberator Destroyers, as well as short-range ones by fast ships such as Vindicator Cutters.

In PvE, the Pegasus rarely finds its place, considering that the vast majority of NPC weapons have extended range and cannot be dodged. Guardian Cruisers are much better decoys while Enforcer Battleships can deal greater damage.

Trivia

  • The Pegasus closely resembles a frigate in terms of its stats.
  • The Pegasus originally required Nighthawk Frigate mark upgrade research for its own mark upgrade research because of its similarity to frigates, but that has been changed to the Revelation Cruiser in order to match its actual ship class (specialist).
