The Harmonic Exophase Shield is a powerful ship shield that protects against the 4 most common damage types in combat - Energy, Explosive, Kinetic, as well as Alien Damage. However, it is restricted to A.X.I.S. Hulls or better, and has an insanely long repair time.

Advantages[ | ]

Harmonic Exophase Shields can vastly improve the durability of your ships, carrying lots of shield energy in addition to a Harmonic Shield bonus. It is also the only shield for A.X.I.S. ships that can resist Alien Damage.

Its repair time increase, once its worst disadvantage, was completely nullified in 2021, allowing ships to use it without repercussions.

Disadvantages[ | ]

Harmonic Exophase Shields are not effective against Plasma Damage, a common damage type used by advanced Alien Event Targets and the Pharmakon. They also cannot resist Void Damage that is dealt by Marauder Hulls.

The Harmonic Exophase Shield originally had a 1:2.5 energy to repair ratio prior to the early September 2017 update, which reduced it to 1:1.75, a value that is still widely considered as horrendous.
Along with other T6.5 equipment, Harmonic Exophase Shield III's build time was significantly reduced during the late April 2019 update as summarized here.
Its repair time was nullified as a result of the early February 2021 update, which updated the repair time of all Tier 6 ships to be invariant to equipment.
