The Exophase Field is the base counterpart of the Harmonic Exophase Shield, resisting 4 weapon types but does not grant any Harmonic Bonuses.

Strategy and Setup[ | ]

Advantages[ | ]

Like its ship counterpart, the Exophase Field can vastly improve the durability of modules, with decent amounts of shield energy, as well as an equal resistance to Energy, Explosive, Kinetic and Alien Damage types.

Plus, since the update which made all equipment in the base not cost any repair time, the Exophase Field will definitely increase the durability of any module equipped over to it by a significant amount as compared to the Metaphase Field.

Disadvantages[ | ]

Sadly, Exophase Fields cannot resist Void Damage that is dealt by Marauder Hulls, meaning Dragoon Destroyers with Void Eclipse Drivers will certainly rip through this shield relatively quickly. In addition, Exophase Fields also cannot resist Blight Damage that is dealt by Umbra Hulls nor can they resist Plasma Damage that is dealt by Pharmakon Hulls, meaning that they too can deplete this shield rather quickly.

Exophase Fields carry a ton of XP while not being that much of an improvement over Metaphase Fields.

Trivia[ | ]

Modules with active Exophase Fields are encased in a rainbow dome which pulses noticeably.
When it was first released, the Exophase Field suffered from a bug in which the item was treated like a Metaphase Field, lacking protection against Alien Damage and being able to stack with other Metaphase Fields.
