The Celestial Optics is a Pharmakon developed special for energy damage Cannon weapons.
Strategy and Setup[ | ]
Advantages[ | ]
The Celestial Optics boosts the range of Energy Cannon weapons (even more than Focused Optics!), whilst reducing the spread and increasing the weapon speed.
This makes the special especially effective on weapons like Tick Cannon and Tera Cannon, which have low projectile speeds. Most non-homing Cannon weapons also have spread; its reduction renders the DPS more focused on a specific point.
Moreover, it does not take up any mass, enabling your ships to fit more weapons, armor, and so on.
Disadvantages[ | ]
The Celestial Optics, however, reduces the DPS of the weapon by a moderate amount. This basically counterbalances the fact that it does not take up any mass.
Against enemies that are highly agile, the reduced spread actually causes weapon projectiles to miss more often.
Trivia[ | ]
- This is the first range boosting special since Harmonic Beam Capacitor.
- This special gives the greatest boost to maximum range for Energy Cannon weapons.
- This special has been locked to Tier 7 ships in the early November 2019 update. Any Valrayvns equipped with this special at the time enjoy one free refit until the ship has been upgraded.
