Altairian Motherships are huge capital ships utilized by the Oligarchs.
Strategy
These massive behemoths serve as mobile command centers, and are armed with a variety of onboard weapon systems.
The Altairian Motherships are armed with multiple Shredder Cannons that have a much higher range than other weapons. The Shredder Cannons can also pierce multiple targets, thus allowing them to deal a significant amount of damage.
In addition, the Mothership has the ability to spawn Multiple Altairian Corvettes, small, but extremely fast ships armed with a Plasma Vulcan Beam (4 on the Blitz Variant, 8 on the normal variant). For the normal variant, the mothership will constantly replenish the Corvettes if they are continuously destroyed, so take out the mothership first to stop the Swarm of Corvettes. Surprisingly, the Blitz Variant only spawns Drones when damaged (75% Health), and does not replace them.
Lastly, the Altairian Mothership is armed with a Surge Core PL similar to the Harvester. It does not deal that much damage, however.
Trivia
- It is one of the largest ships in the game.
- It vaguely resembles a Valhalla Carrier.
- The Altairian Mothership is the first boss ship since the Ancient Harvester, and the boss ship of the Altairian Season.
- Altairian Motherships originally had Plasma Scorcher Beams in the regular fleets. This was later changed to Shredder Cannons as they dealt too little damage.
- Along with other T7A Oligarch ships before the Renascence Battlecruiser, this ship has received identical resistances to Nebula Fields as its Herald counterpart in the early April 2019 update. They used to have no damage resistances.
