General[edit | edit source]
Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
Like the previous shells, Deflector Shells have excellent shield energy and mass efficiency, even greater than that of the Harmonic Exophase Shield. They have a very low repair to health ratio unlike earlier shields and are therefore viable on low-repair ships.
The Xeno Shell is able to resist Alien Damage, making it the second shield to do so after the Harmonic Exophase Shield.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
Xeno Shells take increased damage against all other damage types, making it only marginally effective against players who equip their ships with xeno weapons.
As Most Altairian Hulls already have a large amount of Alien Resistance, there is little need to add extra defense by using this shields.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Hulls with active Xeno Shells glow bright green.
- Interestingly, this and the Plasma Shell are the only Shell shields without any special attributes. This is likely because they resist a damage type that is less commonly seen.
- The Xeno Shell was granted immunity to Alien Nebula Fields in the late April 2019 update.
- Xeno Shell has received immunity to Plasma Nebula Fields in the early November 2019 update.
