General[edit | edit source]

The Nova Driver is yet another weapon modeled after the Nova Ray. It deals Explosive Damage and has an extremely long range, and on impact, splits into 5 smaller projectiles (72 deg apart) which travel for 500 m at a speed of 5,000 m/s and explode with a 100 m radius. These secondary projectiles cannot pierce ships.

Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]

Advantages[edit | edit source]

The Nova Driver has extremely long maximum range, making it suited for Ranger ships which have long maximum effective range.

Despite being a Driver, this weapon is even faster than the previous Nova weapon, the Nova Missile, which improves its accuracy.

The Nova Driver has the potential to deal extra damage via its secondary projectiles against large targets such as carriers, dreadnoughts and The Bridge.

Disadvantages[edit | edit source]

The Nova Driver has a large minimum range and thus may not be suitable for ships with lower maximum effective range such as those with the Fighter or Titan role.

It has a moderate charge time, which gives enemies the opportunity to duck inside the ship's blind spot before it can open fire.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Nova Driver's primary and secondary projectiles deal a total of 100% and 50% DPS respectively, meaning that it can potentially do up to 150% DPS.
  • The Nova Driver is the first Driver weapon to deal Explosive Damage.
  • It is also the first Driver weapon to have a charge time.
  • The Nova Driver III originally had a bug in which its UI block failed to display Arms Lab requirements.
