The Cyclotron Beam is the successor to the Mercury Beam, with Overcharge abilities similar to the Surge Beam. It can only be equipped on the Sovereign Carrier, as well as the Gargoyle Carrier and Plexus Carrier (except for the Xeno version).

Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]

Advantages[edit | edit source]

Like the Mercury Beam, the Cyclotron Beam has very high DPS relative to other Energy and Alien weapons.

Plus, it has tremendous range, on par with Squadrons like the Yellowjacket Drone.

Its DPS increases the longer it locks on to its target due to the Overcharge ability, thus increasing its destructive power over time.

Disadvantages[edit | edit source]

Being a Beam Weapon, Cyclotron Beams are very ineffective against Squadrons.

This weapon is only limited to the Sovereign Carrier, and fits only on Squadron Slots as well. This means that using this weapon will sacrifice the ability to launch squadrons.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Cyclotron Beam is the first conventional weapon for carriers in a long time, since the Mercury Beam.
  • The Cyclotron Beam is the longest-range ship weapon obtainable by players.
  • The update of early August 2018 removed the Antimatter cost of Cyclotron Beam fragment crafting.
