General[edit | edit source]
Note that its Counter Chain ability is useless upon losing shields.
Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
Void Shells are superior to Circuit Shields. While they have slightly less energy, they have a higher resistance to Void Damage, and are thus able to block it to a greater extent as compared to the Circuit.
They are also much more mass efficient, and possess the Counter Chain ability like the Spectral Shell, thus reducing the effects of Chain weapons.
They also have a more efficient repair time to health ratio.
They also can be equipped on T6 Marauders, which makes the T6 Marauder ships more durable compared to A.X.I.S. Hulls.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
Void Shells have negative resistance to other damage types, making them vulnerable against non-Void damage, meaning, conventional damage types as well as Alien and Plasma damage will bring it down quickly.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Hulls with active Void Shells glow Purple, similar to the Circuit Shield.
- The Void Shell has the same stats as the Spectral Shell, leading some to believe the Marauders had reverse engineered the Spectral Shell.
- The Void Shell was granted immunity to Void Nebula Fields in the late April 2019 update.
