As a cutter, this ship has fair durability and superior forward speed, suitable for rushing into enemy formations.
Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
The Vindicator Cutter is the fastest player-obtainable ship in the game, able to reach over 900 m/s when equipped with Harmonic Chase Thruster, being inside an Agility Field and receiving a 30% Harmonic Agility bonus. It can even outrun other cutters as a result of the extra Harmonic Agility, making it the best fleet holder. In addition, this ship retains the high acceleration of the Decimator Cutter.
Note that the maximum Harmonic Agility bonus is equivalent to an infinite Agility Field for your ships.
This ship is quite durable (3 armor slots) and deals a lot of damage (5 weapon slots), being able to survive the onslaught of Enforcer Battleships and Ancient Hives, getting in range to annihilate them in a matter of seconds.
They can share their Harmonic bonus with Dreadnoughts, strengthening their otherwise slow speed and they, alongside the Pegasus, are the most common Dreadnought escorts. Their effect can be doubled with the Harmonic Chase Thruster, with the resulting Harmonic Agility bonus enhancing their entire fleet's speed by 25%, which is good for them as well, as they can quickly dodge more advanced ships that could quickly destroy them.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
While it might win against many fleets, the Vindicator Cutter is commonly regarded as a no-skill ship just like any other cutter (just point and click) and will almost certainly take a ton of damage from every battle.
Like other cutters, it is extremely vulnerable to squadrons due to the narrow firing arc, enabling Paladin Carriers to turn the tide of battle quite easily. Never build a pure Twinfire Beam fleet or you will suffer greatly.
The ones used to empower Dreadnoughts with their Harmonic bonuses are often devoid of weapons and defenses due to their Dreadnought's massive mass requirement, which can be up to 134,005 t when fully upgraded, and are therefore highly vulnerable to being destroyed if they aren't moved away from danger.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- There used to be a bug that gave Mk II+ Vindicator Cutters less acceleration than the Mk I version.
- All player ships had their Resurgence values modified as a result of the late February 2020 update.
