General[edit | edit source]
The Tempest Driver is a unique Kinetic weapon that specializes in point-blank combat. It is restricted to Demon Corps Hulls.
It fires five blue projectiles in an arc which can pierce one target and hit another behind it. It functions very similar to the Burst Ray and could be considered as its Kinetic version.
Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
Tempest Drivers deal massive damage at close range and are hence often used on cutters. They can also deal double damage against enemies that are lined up due to their piercing ability.
Tempest Drivers have a very small minimum range that is impossible to exploit without the use of small ships such as corvettes and Harrier Frigates. Ships equipped with this weapon can face-hug most enemies and still be able to fire.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
Tempest Drivers have horrible maximum range and are easily kited. They do not benefit from Iridium Magnets due to the already-high projectile speed and the fact that the weapon is fired at close proximity.
Tempest Drivers deal reduced damage to enemies that are further away due to its spread, missing most of its shots.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
