The Spearhead Augment is a special intended to boost the effectiveness of ships with the Fighter role in combat.
Note that this special is mutually exclusive with thrusters.
Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
This item is essentially a thruster with no downsides, as it boosts forward, turning *and* strafe speeds.
Moreover, it increases the ship's effective health and stasis resistance, making it much more difficult for enemies to take out ships equipped with this special before they close in. The Harmonic Warfare boost extends the special's power to the entire fleet, even if they are not equipped with the Spearhead Augment.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
The Spearhead Augment is only available to ships with the Fighter role.
The maximum speed of Fighters equipped with this special may be so high that it becomes difficult for ships to actually reach that maximum speed due to their limited acceleration.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- It is one of the two specials released for Tier 8, the other one being the Vanguard Augment. Interestingly, there is no Augment for ships with the Ranger role.
