General[edit | edit source]
Spectral, Shockwave, Deflector, Xeno and Plasma Resonant Armor feature damage resistance and a greater bonus to shield energy compared to regular Resonant Armor.
Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
Resonant Armor not only provides heavy protection, but also increases the shield energy of your ships at no additional repair cost, allowing your ships to become more durable and retain their repair efficiency.
The elemental versions build on this protection by reducing the amount of damage taken from the respective damage type. They also have a better repair efficiency.
Against Altairian Event Targets, Spectral is effective against Vanguards and Motherships, Shockwave against Brigades and Regiments, Deflector against Outposts and Fortresses, Xeno against Outriders. Plasma Resonant Armor is a universal defense against high-level Altairian Event Targets as they all deal Plasma Damage to some extent.
For PvP, refer to here for general guidelines on when to use the Spectral, Shockwave and Deflector variants. The Xeno version provides extra protection against common Alien Damage weapons such as the Xeno Epsilon ECHO Cannon.
The Xeno version is useful against other Altairian Hulls that have Alien damage weapons equipped; the Plasma version is likewise useful against Pharmakon Hulls that have Plasma damage weapons equipped.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
Regular Resonant Armor is less mass-efficient than Tungsten Armor, though it does provide a lot more health.
Do note that Elemental Resonant Armor is slightly less mass-efficient than the regular variant, so be sure to put your resistances to use.
