Since it deals Plasma damage instead, [[Umbra Hulls]] are unable to defend against it as they have no equipment to resist it, making them vulnerable to the full DPS of the weapon. Ablative Health is also affected by DoT, meaning that it will wear down [[Ablation]] quickly if the Umbra hull is unable to regenerate enough ablative health to make up for the DoT. ===Disadvantages=== Unfortunately, the drawbacks of the original Tera Cannon carry over as well, namely its slow projectile speed as well as insignificant effects of DoT if the enemy ship has a large amount of shields or ablative health. [[Altairian Hulls]] and [[Pharmakon Hulls]] have significant resistance to Plasma weapons, and [[Altairian Hulls]] can equip [[Plasma Shell]], [[Plasma Resonant Armor|armor]] or [[Altairian Pierce Resistors|resistors]] to resist the Plasma damage and/or piercing even further. Note that DoT does not affect shields or screens, and can be rendered null if the Umbra hull can regenerate its ablative health faster than the DoT applied. DoT stacks only apply to ships that have DoT damage threshold. That means the DoT will only work on the Trojan Cruiser, and not on any other hull that it is equipped to. The Plasma Tera Cannon is restricted to Pharmakon Cruisers, specifically the [[Trojan Cruiser]]. ==Trivia== *The Plasma Tera Cannon is the first Plasma weapon to be available to players. *CM Chris originally confirmed that Plasma damage can never be utilized by players.
