General[edit | edit source]
Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
The Celestial Optics boosts the range of Plasma Cannon weapons, whilst reducing the spread and increasing the weapon speed.
This makes the special especially effective on weapons like Plasma Tick Cannon and Plasma Tera Cannon, which also have low projectile speeds. Most non-homing Cannon weapons also have spread; reducing it renders the DPS more focused on a specific point.
Moreover, it does not take up any mass, enabling your ships to fit more weapons, armor, and so on.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
The Plasma Celestial Optics, however, reduces the DPS of the weapon by a moderate amount. This basically counterbalances the fact that it does not take up any mass.
Against enemies that are highly agile, the reduced spread actually causes weapon projectiles to miss more often.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- This is the first Plasma range boosting special.
- This special has been locked to Tier 7 ships in the early November 2019 update.
