General[edit | edit source]
The Marauder-only Overcharged Accelerator increases a ship's acceleration, allowing it to reach maximum speed faster, but penalizes cargo capacity. It also offers minimal stasis resistance.
Note that unlike most other ship specials, this special can be stacked with itself.
Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
Overcharged Accelerators are highly versatile, with abilities that benefit the vast majority of Marauder Hulls at zero cost of mass.
Cruisers and cutters can utilize this special to catch up to and destroy enemy battleships: the stasis resistance combined with increased acceleration enables them to quickly recover from stasis-dealing weapons such as the NET Torpedo.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
Overcharged Accelerators reduce the cargo capacity of your ships, which is not ideal for base combat if you intend to steal resources from the enemy. However, the penalty is actually quite small and should not pose a problem unless you stack multiple of this special on the same ship.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The Overcharged Accelerator is the first special to grant a boost to acceleration.
- It is also the first special to penalize cargo capacity.
- In the December update, this special received an unannounced buff: mass requirements were eliminated, its acceleration was increased at levels I-II, and stasis resistance was additionally granted.
