General[ | ]

This is a collection of non-player targets. They typically belong to a certain faction and are either passive or aggressive.

Passive NPC targets do not attack player fleets unless engaged by the player.

Aggressive NPC targets pursue and attack player fleets within a certain level range (which may not be equal to PvP Gating) if they get too close on the map. This is usually signalled by a red pulse. In the case of Alien fleets, they turn red instead. The vast majority of aggressive fleets will not attack players while inside solar systems.

Strategies against NPC targets can be found here.

Payouts[ | ]

The payout of each fleet (event points and loot drops) is modified according to your contribution and percent damage taken by the NPC Target.

Your contribution is equal to your (health) damage dealt divided by the total (health) damage taken by the NPC Target. This implies that using Nebula Fields to take out enemies will decrease your contribution, even if the target is singleplayer.

The percent damage taken by the NPC Target is equal to the total (health) damage taken by the NPC Target divided by the total health of the NPC Target.

Event Points[ | ]

Event points are awarded when the NPC Target takes at least 10% damage.

20% contribution or below: Points = Max Points * (Contribution / 20%) * Percent Damage Taken by NPC Target
20% contribution or above: Points = Max Points * Percent Damage Taken by NPC Target

Loot Drops[ | ]

Loot drops are only awarded when the player obtains a victory (NOT a draw) against the NPC Target, and that the NPC Target takes at least 10% damage.

20% contribution or below: No Loot Drops
20% contribution or above: Normal Loot Drops

List of NPC Targets[ | ]

Most aspects of the ships in each NPC target are specified in the below listings, with the exception of durability-related stats such as health, defence and damage resistance (even when resistors are specified, the damage type is irrelevant), as well as speed stats (which are highly variable in general).

Grind Targets[ | ]

Main article: Grind Targets

Grind Targets spawn regularly each day and are generally considered as the easiest compared to the other types of targets.

Catch-up Event Targets[ | ]

Catch-up Event Targets spawn during various catch-up events, including but not limited to Alien Strike and Time Token Riot.

Main Event Targets[ | ]

Main article: Main Event Targets

Main Event Targets spawn during Feature Events as well as Alien Mobilization and Alien Decimation. They are considerably more difficult than grind and catch-up event targets.

Alliance War Targets[ | ]

Main article: Alliance War Targets

This is a list of targets that appear only during Alliance War, which include Mining Outposts and Marauder NPC fleets, and are found only in the Unstable Sector. They are considerably more difficult than grind and catch-up event targets.

For old targets that are no longer spawned, refer to this page.

Trivia[ | ]

  • Originally, NPC Target point payouts followed a quadratic curve:
20% contribution or below: Points = Max Points * (Contribution / 20%) * (Percent Damage Taken by NPC Target ^ 2)
20% contribution or above: Points = Max Points * (Percent Damage Taken by NPC Target ^ 2)
  • Originally, the 10% threshold for NPC Target payouts did not exist. This was added in the late April 2019 update.
