General[edit | edit source]

The Magnetic Collar is an Umbra special that enhances the Ablative Recovery of ships with Ablation, allowing them to recover much more health from the damage dealt in battle.

Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]

Advantages[edit | edit source]

The Magnetic Collar enhances the amount of ablative health that can be regained per damage taken, meaning ships with this special is able to regenerate ther ablative health much more quickly as compared to ships without it. It is also mass efficient, and does not require that much mass to be fitted on the ship.

Disadvantages[edit | edit source]

The Magnetic Collar only works on ships with Ablative Health, and thus does not work on ships that have shields. The Special is Umbra only anyway, and Umbra Hulls are the only hulls at the moment that have ablation technology.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Magnetic Collar is the first special introduced with the Umbra, and the first to boost Ablative Recovery.
  • This special originally had a bug that allowed it to be affected by Armor Mass modifiers. It was fixed in the August 2018 update.
  • The first January 2019 update reintroduced the bug, and made it even worse since it is now affected by twice the Armor Mass modifier. This has been fixed in a subsequent patch.
