General[edit | edit source]
Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
The Kaon Driver is particularly useful when enemies form a line: by piercing through all of them, its damage output is effectively multiplied. This is most often encountered when fighting an outpost with many modules - some of them are bound to be lined up perfectly.
The Kaon Driver has a massive damage per shot due to its long reload time, making it even more deadly than the Glance Cannon if it ever connects.
Its Predictive Aim ability enables it to better target enemies moving in a straight line.
Similar to the Hammer Missile, the extra projectile range allow it to reach ships well beyond its maximum range.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
The Kaon Driver has an even larger minimum range and slower weapon speed than the Hammer Missile, and are thus unreliable against fleets, even when fitted on the Plexus Carrier.
Kaon Drivers are very heavy, especially the level III version. Players who use it will find themselves having to compensate in other areas such that the carrier, or even the overall fleet, does not exceed its mass capacity.
The weapon is restricted to T7 Carriers only.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The Kaon Driver is the first Carrier weapon to deal Kinetic damage.
