General[edit | edit source]
The Inferno Squadron is developed by the Spectre faction, designed to disrupt enemy fire.
Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
The Inferno Squadron's Weapon Disruption effect does not diminish with decreasing health, meaning that it only has to so much as scratch enemy ships to give them a significant penalty to their fire rate. Moreover, as it continually applies Fire Disruption, weapons that fire more than once per firing cycle will be severely hampered as long as the squadron is still attacking that ship.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
Compared to regular Tier 9 ship weapons such as the Rife Missile and Caliber Driver, the Inferno Squadron deals little damage but takes up the same amount of mass. If the primary purpose of this squadron is just to disrupt enemies, the level II version would be worthless as it applies the same amount of weapon disruption as the level I version but takes up more mass.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The Inferno Squadron is the first squadron available to players after Tier 6.
- It is the first source of Weapon Disruption that does not require an Overdrive.
- Originally, the Inferno Squadron was locked to carriers. This is no longer the case ever since the Caustic was released.
