Heretic Cruisers are the epitome of survival, being able to sustain a vast amount of damage before being destroyed, especially when maxed out with Skirmish Armor. They are often used as sniper decoys and base rushers to absorb damage, allowing the rest of your fleet to pummel your enemies with deadly force.

Heretic Cruisers with Unstable Reactor are the counter to Python Cutter rushes: the cruisers have more health and consequently do more damage with each explosion.

Disadvantages[ | ]

Heretic Cruisers only have a single shield slot. This makes regenerating shields such as the Diffuser Shield unreliable because enemies can quickly deplete the shields, preventing them from recharging. Moreover, the reduced shield energy causes this ship to suffer more health damage from each battle, as less is absorbed before the shield fails and damage is dealt directly to the hull.

Trivia[ | ]

The original appearance of the Heretic Cruiser resembled that of a really wide Revelation Cruiser.
A bonus to weapon speed was added to cruiser mark upgrades towards the end of 2017.
All player ships had their Resurgence values modified as a result of the late February 2020 update.
The repair time of all Tier 5-6 ships was standardized in the early February 2021 update.
