General[edit | edit source]
The Hammer Missile is a long range explosive weapon developed by the Umbra for carriers. It homes in towards its enemies for a very short period of time after being launched.
Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
The Hammer Missile's main advantages are its long range as well as the characteristic high DPS of carrier weapons. Keeping the Carrier at a distance and firing from afar can allow Carriers to take out key targets without getting in range of enemy ships.
The Hammer Missile has a relatively large projectile range. Enemy Squadrons launched by the enemy can be exploited to further extend the range of this weapon.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
The Hammer Missile has a minimum range. This can be easily exploited by fast ships like Battlecruisers.
Hammer Missiles are very heavy. Players who intend to use High level versions might have to sacrifice ablation and health, as well as worry about the overall mass of the fleet itself.
Hammer Missiles do not have large AoE and their AoE cannot be boosted as they fit on squadron slots.
The weapon is restricted to T7 Carriers only.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The Hammer Missile is the first Carrier weapon to deal explosive damage. All previous weapons were Beams.
- The Hammer Missile is also the first Carrier weapon to have a minimum range.
- Hammer Missile crafting recipes originally had a resource cost. This has been removed in the late April 2019 update to put it in line with other T7 weapons.
