A rapid-fire energy weapon, the Gatling Ray Turret will help eliminate forces attempting to punch through your base defenses.

The Gatling Ray Turret is a rare Energy weapon that is the base version of the Gatling Ray.

It fires a prolonged volley of yellow bolts before reloading; these bolts leave a longer trail compared to the ship counterpart.

Strategy and Setup[ | ]

Advantages[ | ]

Gatling Ray Turrets have excellent mass efficiency. This combined with their piercing ability can potentially devastate blitz fleets. Try to funnel enemy ships into a line using Terminus Mines to maximize this effect, though you'll probably not have enough mines to force the enemy to do so.

Disadvantages[ | ]

Gatling Ray Turrets are useless against sniper attacks due to their short range.

They are also outclassed by SICO Missile Turrets that have superior overall statistics.

Gatling Ray Turrets can be dodged in a similar manner as the Thermal Ray Turret as it is not a homing weapon.

Trivia[ | ]

  • There exists a bug that causes all base weapons with a piercing ability to be able to hit 6 ships rather than what is displayed on the stat card.
  • Due to how bad the Gatling Ray Turret is, it was often joked by KIXEYE as well. A prime example would be in Scorched Earth where they reduced the number of event prizes. The Gatling Ray Turret was said to be thrown into a black hole signaling that no one wanted it.
  • The equipping time of all old blueprint items for bases was reduced by half during the May 2020 update.
