The Wendigo is a fighter modeled after the cutter class. Though it has very short range, it gains a massive boost to speed when inside an enemy's range arc, making this ship almost impossible to kite.

Strategy and Setup[ | ]

Advantages[ | ]

The Wendigo gains its offensive firepower earlier than most other Tier 8 ships, receiving a weapon slot at Mk IV instead of Elite. It also has one more armor slot than the other fighters which improves its durability.

Its Scramble overdrive makes it extremely difficult to kite. The overdrive's shield bypass bonus, when combined with its innate shield bypass modifier, makes shields almost completely useless - at Elite status, the ship can reach a whopping 75% shield bypass! (Note that shield bypass does not stack additively)

It has Counter Ricochet, making weapons such as the Glance Cannon ineffective.

Disadvantages[ | ]

The Wendigo does not receive its resistance slot until Elite, thus making its armor and defenses relatively less efficient at lower mark levels.

Its unique overdrive does not give it extra DPS, unlike that of the Operator and Orion. As a result, the Wendigo does less damage than rangers and can only achieve victory by utilizing its overdrive to quickly close the distance without getting hit.
