General[ | ]

The Spectral Shell is a ship shield that is highly resistant to Energy Damage, but takes increased damage from other sources. It can only be used on Altairian Hulls.

Note that its Counter Chain ability is useless upon losing shields.

Strategy and Setup[ | ]

Advantages[ | ]

Spectral Shells have excellent shield energy and mass efficiency, even greater than that of the Harmonic Exophase Shield.

Spectral Shells are especially useful against Epsilon ECHO Cannons, being able to resist Energy Damage as well as their Chain effect.

Disadvantages[ | ]

Spectral Shells are unable to recharge unlike the Diffuser Shield, meaning that the maximum shield energy is somewhat limited.

Spectral Shells have negative resistance to other damage types, making them vulnerable against non-Energy damage, especially Alien and Plasma damage, which are extremely common in Alien Event Targets.

Trivia[ | ]

Hulls with active Spectral Shells glow yellow, similar to the Spectral Shield.
The Spectral Shell was granted immunity to Energy Nebula Fields in the late April 2019 update.
Spectral Shell has received immunity to Alien and Plasma Nebula Fields in the early November 2019 update.
Its repair time was nullified as a result of the late September 2020 update, which updated the repair time of all Tier 7 ships to be invariant to equipment.
