The Gargoyle Carrier is the Tier 7 Umbra Carrier.

Strategy and Setup[ | ]

Advantages[ | ]

The Gargoyle Carrier is designed for pure offensive engagement. Its two overdrives enable it to turn the tide of any battle when used well.

Retaliation releases a barrage of 24 missiles in all directions, damaging enemy ships that are caught. This triggers when 3 or more ships are in the Gargoyle's firing range, and the effective range can be extended by using a squadron weapon with large range (9,000m)

Meanwhile, Surcease applies weapon disruption to all enemy ships in a range of 8,000m, abruptly ending their firing cycle when the Gargoyle takes enough damage.

Like other Umbra ships, this ship deals extra damage against Altairian hulls.

Disadvantages[ | ]

The Gargoyle cannot fit any Field Generators or Overdrive Generators, so it has to rely on its hangar weapons. Its Retaliation overdrive is next to useless because its damage is so spread out.

The Gargoyle Carrier can be easily destroyed under prolonged fire, as it is slow and unable to escape if cornered.

Trivia[ | ]

  • The Gargoyle Carrier is the first Carrier to have no equippable support field. It is also the second hull to have 2 overdrives (not including Phase State overdrives), the first being the Behemoth Dreadnought with Hostility Augment.
  • The Christmas gift of 2019 was a pre-fitted Gargoyle Carrier with 3x Ablative Tungsten Armor II, 2x Thonian Armor II, Sunder Thruster III, 3x Hammer Missile I, 2x Cyclotron Beam I.
  • All player ships had their Resurgence values modified as a result of the late February 2020 update.
  • The repair time of all Tier 7 ships apart from dreadnoughts has been standardized to a flat 2 hours (similar to existing Tier 8 ships) in the late September 2020 update.
