The Oligarchs have developed their own version of the Bastion Cruiser, taking on a red color scheme instead. These Bastion Cruisers are very similar to the ones obtainable by players, but lack innate resistance to Alien and Plasma damage.

Be wary of their Firestorm Overdrive; this combined with extended range enables the Oligarchs' Bastion Cruisers to devastate your fleet from a distance.

Strategy

NPC Bastion Cruisers utilize different weapons depending on the target. In the Vanguard Targets, the Mk I and III Bastion Cruisers are armed with 2 Gatling Rays, whereas in the Brigade Targets, they use 2 Katana Missiles instead. The Mk V Variants on both targets utilize Shredder Cannons.

These Bastion Cruisers are extremely durable yet do not deal much damage by default. It is wise to take out them last, focus-firing one ship at a time to ensure that they get taken out quickly once their shields are fully depleted.

An extraordinary amount of shield bypass is required to successfully destroy NPC Bastion Cruisers without taking out their shields, hence they almost always activate their Overdrive ability in combat.

NPC Bastion Cruisers have weapons with very long range, making them almost impossible to kite. One way is to use a long-range carrier that is being pushed by fast ships.

Bastion Cruisers are countered by Paragon Battleships, which have a damage boost against all cruisers which increases as they are upgraded.

Refrain from lining up your ships because the Bastion Cruisers are often equipped with Piercing weapons.

Trivia

• Along with other T7A Oligarch ships before the Renascence Battlecruiser, this ship has received identical resistances to Nebula Fields as its Herald counterpart in the early April 2019 update. They used to have no damage resistances.
