Breaker

Breaker is designed for combat where penetrating and destroying defenses is paramount. Breaker Pilots will have access to Ordnance that can suppress enemy Shield Regeneration while amplifying your allies ability to penetrate the enemy defenses. Deploy Breaker in combat to tear down the most stalwart defense systems.

The Breaker is a fighter modeled after the battlecruiser class, specializing in taking out enemy shields. When in Prime Shift, it fires a barrage of missiles that inhibit enemy shield regeneration.

Like other Tier 9 Spectre ships, the Breaker can recharge its shields even after being fully depleted.

Note that Tier 9 ships have a fixed repair time which is not affected by equipment.

Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]

Advantages[edit | edit source]

Although the Breaker has fewer slots than the Switch overall, it makes up by having a dual firing arc, potentially doubling its firepower. It also has similar shield regeneration capacity as the Switch. Compared to the Tier 8 fighters, this ship has basically twice the overall firing arc, making it harder for enemies to enter its blind spot.

Its Lock On overdrive basically gives it a free shield damage bonus as well as the ability to apply the Phase Hacked debuff, making Umbra the only enemy not affected by this overdrive. The speed bonus it gets ensures that enemies cannot escape once in range.

Its Prime Shift bonus effectively increases the ship's DPS even further. The unique support field provides a passive shield damage bonus for the fleet, further improving their ability to shred through shields. The active ability, which not dealing much damage, applies the Shield Suppressed debuff which temporarily decreases the enemy's ability to recover its shields.

When in Prime Shift, it also gains the ability to control enemy spawned ships, a great counter to the Liberatus faction's Broadsider. The ship's innate AoE Radius modifier is also excellent at taking out swarms of spawned ships.

The ship has a 50% innate damage bonus against all Altairian, Umbra and Pharmakon ships.

Disadvantages[edit | edit source]

Its mass modifiers are considerably worse than the Switch's, allowing players to fit on less equipment before hitting maximum mass.

Its Prime Shift threshold is 15% higher than the Switch's. Although it has a higher base charge rate, it is one shield slot short of the Switch's, so its maximum charge rate is about the same. As a result, it becomes more difficult for this ship to reach and maintain Prime Shift.

The Breaker has a short range just like other fighters, and has relatively little armor, giving enemies the opportunity to take it out before it gets close, especially if they have weapons that apply Stasis. It also has lower resistances than the Switch until it reaches Mk V.
