Its bolts are much brighter than those of the regular version, signifying its "boosted" status.

Advantages[edit | edit source]
Boosted Pulse Rays come with an innate shield damage bonus of 25%, allowing this weapon to fell enemy shields much faster. They can also achieve a maximum of 30 DPS, much higher than 20 DPS for the regular Pulse Ray.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
Boosted Pulse Rays are significantly less mass-efficient than the regular version, to the point where any benefit provided by the additional shield damage is nullified.

- The Boosted Pulse Ray appears identical to Pulse Ray III-V.
- The Boosted Pulse Ray is arguably the most pointless ship weapon, the other candidate being the Brimstone Torpedo.
