General[edit | edit source]
Barricade Shields protect ships from damage. Each variant can last longer only against a single damage type. It is restricted to Tier 9 Spectre.
Apart from protecting against damage, Barricade Shields also enable the Prime Shift mechanic. Click the link for more details.
Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
Barricade Shields offer far greater protection while taking up the same amount of mass as Resolute Shields.
While only resisting one damage type, the resistance amount is even greater than the Resolute Shield, making it almost impossible to drain the shields if only attacked with that damage type.
If you are short on mass but want to maximize your Prime Shift charge rate, you may elect to use level I shields as they offer the most charge per mass. However, keep in mind that level III shields offer the most shield energy per mass.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
Unlike Resolute Shields, this shield has no RPS variants, so it cannot gain resistance to Alien Damage and Plasma Damage. Compared to regular Resolute Shields, this shield can only resist one damage type instead of three. Despite this, the effective durability of the shield is still better against those damage types due to the massive amount of shield energy it provides.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
