General[edit | edit source]
|“||Shred through shields with the Aurora Ray's pre-ionized energy blasts.||”|
The Aurora Ray is an Energy weapon with increased damage to shields, popular in mid-level combat due to its power.
It fires a series of bright yellow bolts that home in towards their targets.
Strategy and Setup[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
Aurora Rays have decent range and firepower when equipped with Focused Optics, making them a versatile weapon that performs well in many situations. Specials like Ion Modulator and Ionized Optics can further increase the weapon's shield damage, shredding through enemy shields like nothing else.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
Aurora Rays are not as mass efficient compared to other Energy weapons and can only make up for it through increased shield damage. Hence, they are not desirable against modules, which typically have a lot more health than shield energy.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The Aurora Ray was first teased in the Countermeasures event video, during the Osprey Frigate fitting.
